If you are going to use a melatonin replacement, try to combine it with SAMe, so that the two can work in unison to regulate the sleep patterns. If you can adjust your lifestyle at the same time, so that you are keeping regular hours, so much the better.
If you try these natural remedies and still find you have a serious problem, you may need to resort to synthetic drugs. These should only be used when all else has failed, as they come with severe side effects. Even the medical profession itself tells us that they are only safe to be used for a maximum of two weeks. It is only as an absolute last resort that you should consider synthetic sleep aid pills.
